OUr Beginning

Joey and Ericka Scarborough have dedicated their lives to serving others, building relationships, and helping teens grow deeper in their walk with Christ. They have been married for fifteen years and are the proud parents of Josie and Cade. Both felt a call to ministry early in life. After graduating from Wayne County High School, they attended Fort Myers Master’s Commission, where they had the opportunity to serve in ministry across the United States and internationally. During that time, they traveled with motivational speaker   Reggie Dabbs and were involved in various inner-city outreach ministries.

Joey and Ericka have served in children’s, youth, and young adult ministries for many years. They faithfully serve in their local church and have a strong heart for mission work. Their greatest passion is mentoring and encouraging the next generation. Through outreach initiatives, they focus on building meaningful relationships with students, walking alongside them in their faith journeys, and equipping them to apply God’s Word to their everyday lives. Whether through local events, one-on-one discipleship, or partnerships with schools and community organizations, Joey and Ericka are dedicated to seeing young people thrive spiritually and grow deeper in their walk with Christ.

In 2024, they founded Roots Student Ministry in response to the growing spiritual needs of teens in their hometown. As Wayne County natives, their hearts are deeply connected to their community. They are committed to reaching youth in Wayne County and surrounding areas with the gospel, teaching them biblical truth, and equipping them to make disciples. They desire to see students come to know Christ and make Him known. With deep roots and strong community ties, they are honored to partner with parents, youth pastors, teachers, coaches, and Christian leaders who share their vision.
